The call of the father

This week's goodness is on Galatians 4:6-7:

Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.

God sent the spirit of his son into our hearts. And it cries out for the father. That's pretty intense. Can you sense the Holy Spirit in you, connecting you to the Father? Can you feel it saying "Daddy" to the creator of the universe? It's our natural inclination to seek God. He has put his spirit into us. No human being can do that.

We are no longer slaves. How can we be slaves, when the spirit of God is so close to us that it is actually in us? We're heirs to God's blessings. We have access to his limitless power, his voice, and the spirit of his son. We are so fortunate.

Take a moment and feel the connection to God's spirit. Thank God for your relationship with him. Thank him for the freedom he has given us. Thank him for being a son, not a slave. That is great news! It is definitely something to be thankful for.
